Capture Application Data

A way to maximize your time

The World Wide Web has become a global marketplace and an excellent method to let your customers work with you. In your business, Agents ask for your services. And who knows better what they need, than the Agents?

Your current web-site allows your customers to calculate a Quote For Insurance Coverage based on information only they can provide. We could reduce the number of people required to Insert an Policy into the system by capturing the customer's request or application data, and sending it to a "pending" area within TCS (and later Homewoners) that just needs to be reviewed and completed to insert a *binding* into your system.

I propose to do this in three phases.

·Phase one (I) would be to capture the "Application Data" on the web-site. Allow the customer to request an application in the same way they request a quote. When they click the "Submit" button, we could generate a PDF with their completed form. They could then print this document out and fax it to us, already complete. This eliminates one step for the Agent. Currently they have to print out the Application Form, complete it by hand, then fax it to you. A reduction in steps to them will encourage more to submit their information to you.

·Phase II would be to take the captured data and send it to a table we have access to. A new screen could be added to the Commercial system that provides access to the "pending applications" submitted in this way. Since most of the "data entry" was completed by your customer, you save time. You can task a person with reviewing each entry for the required fields, correct spellings and Turner specific information.

·Phase III would be to build in automation to send confirmation and requests for additional or missing information on a particular application back to an Agent. Your bigger customers could then be convinced to send all applications this way since they get a much better *turn-around* from you.

All this has the added benefit of building almost all the processes to send back the data so the Agent can import directly into their system using existing web technologies like XML and web services, reducing their data entry! If you can provide your services, and it requires less work by them, they are more inclined to use you as the binding authority when the price is close, increasing your bottom line.
